
30 March 1746: A Hessian hussar taken prisoner by the Jacobites north of Dunkeld was released and sent to Prince Frederick with a letter from Lord George Murray, who desired to know “upon what footing your Highness proposes making war” and asked to have a prisoner cartel settled.1
30 March 1746: After skirmishing with Jacobite forces between Dunkeld and the Pass of Killiecrankie, a Hessian hussar reconnaissance party returned to the camp at Dunkeld with two wounded, one shot in the thigh and one shot in the knee.2
