26 February 1715: After receiving intelligence about the Jacobite threat, John Campbell, Duke of Argyll and commander-in-chief in Scotland, held a meeting with the Duke of Roxburgh and the Duke of Montrose at Edinburgh Castle “in order to regulate the Disposal” of the troops that were stationed in Scotland.
