10 February

10 February 1746: During the retreat to Inverness, Jacobite forces led by Major-General John Gordon of Glenbucket bombarded Ruthven Barracks with three 4-pounder cannon. Lieutenant Terrence Molloy and his small garrison of 14 men who had been holding out in hostile Badenoch since the last Jacobite attack in August surrendered the following day. Molloy and his soldiers were released and allowed safe passage to Perth. After carrying out the provisions and bedding the Jacobites set fire to the buildings.
